Minor dispute turns violent during liquor party, two students injured
Bhopal. A minor dispute took a violent turn late on Sunday night in Katara Hills area of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Disturbed by the noise during the liquor party, two students who went to explain were fired upon, in which both were seriously injured.
According to police, 23-year-old Vasu Gupta and 21-year-old Anshu Tej Patil are students of SAGE University. Vasu is a BBA third year student and Anshu is a BTech second year student. Both live in Sage Suncity Phase-1 Colony with fellow students. Sudhanshu Singh, a resident of LNCT College on Raisen Road, and his friends often come to meet the students of the colony.
Late night everyone was having an alcohol party, making noise and using abusive language, due to which other students were disturbed. With the aim of calming the situation, Vasu and Anshu along with their friends came to convince the accused, but things turned sour and the dispute escalated.
Three rounds fired, two students got shot
It is alleged that during the dispute, Sudhanshu Singh fired three rounds from a country-made pistol. One bullet hit the shoulder of Vasu Gupta, while the other bullet hit the stomach of Anshu Tej Patil, seriously injuring him.
Both the injured were immediately admitted to the hospital, where their treatment is ongoing. After the incident, the accused fled from the spot along with his associates.
While leaving, he also threatened to kill me. The police have registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused and his associates and started searching for them. At present he has not been arrested.
Investigation continues, questions raised on security
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused youth often used to come to the colony and party till late night, due to which disputes had arisen earlier also. After this incident, questions have started being raised regarding security and surveillance in the area.
