Damoh: Truck collides with Bolero and bike, four dead, five serious

Damoh/Bhopal. On Friday evening, near village Bansa Tarkheda on Damoh-Sagar State Highway under Dehat police station area in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh, an uncontrolled truck first hit the Bolero and then hit the bike. In this accident, four people died on the spot, while 5 people were seriously injured.

According to Dehat police station, the truck was coming from Sagar towards Damoh, while the Bolero was going from Damoh towards Sagar. Meanwhile, both the vehicles collided head-on. After the collision, the bike rider coming from behind also got hit by the truck.

The collision was so severe that the Bolero driver and the person sitting next to him died. At the same time, two people riding the bike also died on the spot.

As soon as the information was received, Dial 112, Sagar Naka outpost police and Dehat police station in-charge Amit Gautam reached the spot with their team and controlled the situation. The injured were taken to the district hospital with the help of 108 ambulances and private vehicles, where their treatment is ongoing.

After receiving information about the accident, administrative officials including SDM Saurabh Gandharbha, Tehsildar Parul Chaudhary and Raghunandan Chaturvedi reached the spot. Police have registered the case and started investigation. Considering the condition of the seriously injured, the death toll is expected to increase.

According to Pulil, the deceased were identified as Raju Choudhary and Dharmendra son of Raghavendra Sirvaiya, residents of Magaron. The deceased bike riders were identified as Jeevan Ahirwar (39) and Lakhan Ahirwar. Both were real brothers and were residents of Bansa Tarkheda.

Brother of deceased Suraj told that both the brothers were coming to Damoh by bike. During this time, the truck hit him, due to which he died on the spot. Younger brother Jeevan used to work in Indore. Suraj used to do farming at home.

Damoh Tehsildar Robin Singh said that the accident happened near Gulab Baba temple at around 4:30 pm on Friday evening. The collision was so severe that the Bolero and the bike were blown to pieces. There was screams on the spot. Blood splatters were seen on the vehicles.

As soon as information about the accident was received, Dehat police station and Sagar Naka outpost police reached the spot. The injured trapped in the vehicles were rescued and taken to the hospital. All four bodies were brought to the district hospital. After postmortem the bodies will be handed over to the relatives.

After the accident, Additional Superintendent of Police Sujit Singh Bhadauria reached the spot and took stock of the relief and rescue operations, while Collector Sudhir Kumar Kochhar expressed deep sorrow over the accident and assured financial assistance to the families of the deceased and gave instructions for better treatment of the injured.

Due to the accident, there was a long jam on the highway. Later, with the help of JCB, the damaged vehicles were removed and the traffic was restored smoothly.
