Heat started increasing, mercury rose by 5 degrees in many cities of Madhya Pradesh, Narmadapuram was the hottest.

Bhopal . As soon as the storms and rains have stopped in Madhya Pradesh, the heat has started showing again. On Friday, an increase of 1 to 5.4 degrees was recorded in day temperature in most of the cities of the state. A significant increase in mercury was seen in Indore, Ujjain and Gwalior, while Bhopal and Ratlam were also not untouched by it. The temperature is expected to increase further on Saturday.

According to the Meteorological Department, a new system will be active from April 15, but its effect will be weak. In such a situation, the scorching heat is likely to continue in the state. Talking about temperature, Narmadapuram was the hottest city in the state, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.3 degrees Celsius. The temperature was 38.6 degrees in Ratlam and 38 degrees in Khargone. Apart from this, the mercury also reached 36 degrees or above in Dhar, Khandwa, Narsinghpur and Khajuraho. Ujjain was the hottest among the major cities of the state, where the temperature was recorded at 35.5 degrees. The temperature was 34.6 degrees in Bhopal and Jabalpur, 35 degrees in Indore and 33.4 degrees Celsius in Gwalior.

In view of the increasing impact of heat, the Meteorological Department has issued an advisory. People have been advised to drink enough water throughout the day, keep the body hydrated and avoid strong afternoon sunlight. Besides, people have been asked to wear light and cotton clothes and take special care of children and the elderly.

It is noteworthy that this time in the beginning of April, instead of intense heat, the effect of storm, rain and hailstorm was seen. Between April 1 and 9, the weather changed in many parts of the state. During this period, maximum rainfall was recorded in Gwalior. Hail fell in more than 15 districts and rain occurred in about 45 districts.

The Meteorological Department says that just as December-January are important for winter and July-August for rain, similarly April and May are the most important months for summer. Especially from the second fortnight of April, the effect of extreme heat starts increasing.
