Bangladesh team announced for ODI series against Sri Lanka, Zuaria Ferdous new face
Dhaka. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday announced a 15-member squad for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. 20-year-old wicketkeeper batsman Zuaria Ferdous has been included in this team for the first time.
In another important decision, right-handed batsman Sharmin Sultana has returned to the ODI team after seven years, which will provide experience to the team’s batting order. The captaincy of the team will be in the hands of Nigar Sultana Joti, while Nahida Akhtar will be the vice-captain.
Zuaria Ferdous has played seven international T20 matches for Bangladesh so far and is the only new player included in this ODI team. His selection indicates that the selectors want to give opportunities to young players keeping in mind the upcoming busy season.
The Sri Lankan team will reach Bangladesh on April 17 and will go straight to Rajshahi, where the ODI series will be held. Both teams will practice for two days before the series.
This three-match series will be played on April 20, 22 and 25 at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium. All matches will start at 9:30 am.
After this, the tour will be in Sylhet from April 26, where a three-match T-20 series will be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The Sri Lankan team will return after completing the tour on 3 May.
