It’s an honor for me: Trump
Trump said in his post, “For the first time in 34 years, delegations from both countries met in Washington with our Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. I have directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary Rubio, along with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Razin Kaine, to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve a lasting peace. It’s been an honor to solve 9 wars around the world and this will be my 10th, so let’s make it happen!”

Israel destroyed bridge in Lebanon
Before the ceasefire was announced, the Lebanese Army had said that on April 16, the Israeli Army had targeted and destroyed the Qasmiyeh bridge in Tayer. The army had called it part of the ongoing aggression against the country. The army had said that the purpose of this attack was to cut off the southern Litani area from the northern area and isolate it. One person was killed and 2 people were injured in this attack. A soldier deployed at the spot was also injured.

Hezbollah angry at Lebanon
Hezbollah has also reacted to the talks between Lebanon and Israel. Hezbollah official Hussein Haj Hassan says the Lebanese government’s decision to hold direct talks with Israel is a serious mistake. According to Hassan, the talks do not serve any interest of the country and should be stopped.
