ASHA workers protest for not receiving incentive amount since last eight months, services disrupted
Supaul. Angered by non-payment of incentive amount for eight consecutive months, Asha workers protested in front of Veerpur PHC on Friday. During this, they raised slogans against the medical officer in-charge and the accountant.
During the strike, Asha workers stopped all other health services running in the PHC except emergency services. Asha workers said that they have not been paid incentive amount for the last eight months, due to which they are facing financial problems.
Asha workers Chamcham Kumari, Kumari Suman, Reena Devi, Sheela Kumari and others who were protesting accused the medical officer in-charge Dr. Ram Naresh Sharma and accountant Anup Kumar Gupta and other senior officials that the amount coming from the department was not being paid to them.
He said that officials have repeatedly assured to make the payment within a week, but till now the amount has not been received. Asha workers warned that if their incentive amount was not paid soon, they would be forced to carry out violent agitation.
