43rd consecutive crane count is a strong base for environmental protection, Keoladeo Ghana National Park is our pride – Minister of State for Home

Bharatpur, Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedam was on a one-day visit to Bharatpur on Tuesday. During this, he participated as the chief guest in the 43rd Stork Counting Program organized by Keoladeo Natural History Society at Keoladeo Ghana National Park.
The Minister of State for Home said that this continuous work of crane census for the last 43 years is proving to be a milestone in the direction of environmental protection. He said that this program is not for personal gain, but is a symbol of the conservation, development and prosperity of Bharatpur, Rajasthan and the national heritage of the country. Keoladeo Natural History Society President Ed. Congratulating Krishna Kumar Arora, he said that this invaluable heritage of birds and wildlife is being preserved over the years, which is an important effort to save our culture, tradition and history. This not only conserves nature but also maintains the balance of human life.
The Minister of State said that Keoladeo Ghana National Park, included in the UNESCO World Heritage list, is our pride. Expressing concern, he said that the decline in the number of Siberian cranes is a serious matter, which is mainly due to global warming, less rainfall and water scarcity.
He said that many works are being done by the state government for environmental protection and tourism development. Along with Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary, domestic and foreign tourists come to see Bandh Baritha, Deeg Jal Mahal, religious places and other heritage sites, due to which local people get employment through services like guides, hotels and taxis. He said that the work of beautification and restoration of White Palace and Phulwadi of Vair is going on, while Biological Park and City Forest are being developed in Bandh Baritha.
The Minister of State said that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, many projects are in progress for the overall development of Bharatpur. He said that under an important water project, 17 districts of Eastern Rajasthan including Bharatpur, Sikri, Bandh Baritha Dam, Dholpur, Alwar have been connected, through which water will be provided for irrigation, drinking water, industry and environmental protection. An MOU has been signed between the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan regarding this project and the work of the first phase has been completed, while the tender for the second phase is in the process.
Book released:
On this occasion, the Minister of State also released the book “Ecology and Environmental Biology” written by Dr. MM Trigunayat and Dr. Kritika Trigunayat. After the program, the Minister of State saw the newborn stork chicks and gave necessary instructions to the Forest Department officials for their care. DFO Chetan Kumar Biwi said that in the 43rd Stork Census Report, the Siberian Stork number has increased from 22 in Ghana Bird Sanctuary and from 79 to 81 in the wetland area of ​​Bharatpur and Deeg districts.
On this occasion, DTO Abhay Mudgal, Committee Patron Kaka Raghuraj Singh, President Krishna Kumar Arora, Chief Coordinator Anand Sharma, former DFO Pushpendra Khuntela along with wildlife lovers, students, officials of concerned departments and distinguished citizens were present.
