Nepal: Sudan Gurung resigns from the post of Home Minister on charges of share trading.
Kathmandu. Nepal’s Home Minister Sudan Gurung has resigned from his post. Gurung, facing allegations of involvement in various stock dealings with controversial businessmen, submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Balendra Shah after discussions with Ravi Lamichhane on Wednesday.
He informed about his resignation through social media. Prime Minister Shah had appointed Gurung as the Home Minister in the first Council of Ministers. Gurung, who initially came into limelight by arresting high-ranking employees, had been at the center of continuous criticism in recent times.
