Wedding happiness turned into mourning: Five including three from the same family died in a horrific accident while returning home.

Near Kusumha Basharatpur on Gorakhpur-Varanasi four lane, the speeding Scorpio went out of control and first hit the divider and then had a fierce collision with a trailer going in the other lane. In the accident, five people including three members of the same family died on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Vinay Srivastava (60), his wife Archana Srivastava (58) and son Kritarth Srivastava (27), residents of Khorabar, Gorakhpur. Gaya resident driver Purushottam (47), who was driving the vehicle with them, and the other driver Nitish (46) also became victims of the accident. The family was returning from Ranchi, Jharkhand after completing their daughter’s marriage.

As soon as the Scorpio reached near Kusumha Basharatpur at around 2:30 in the night, the driver dozed off. The speeding vehicle suddenly went out of control and crossed the divider and entered the other lane, where it collided heavily with the trailer coming from the front. The collision was so severe that the front part of the vehicle was completely shattered and everyone got trapped inside.

As soon as the information was received, the police and forensic team reached the spot. After a lot of hard work, the vehicle was cut and all the bodies were taken out in about two and a half hours. After this the bodies were sent for post-mortem. As soon as the news of the accident was received, there was chaos among the family members. The house where there was happiness of marriage a few hours ago, is now filled with mourning. A wave of mourning has spread throughout the village.
