On the launch of ‘Catch the Rain’ campaign in Delhi, the Chief Minister said, raindrop, security of the future.

New Delhi . Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, making rain water harvesting a pledge of public participation, launched the ‘Catch the Rain 2026’ campaign in RKpuram, Delhi on Friday. During this time, ‘Neera-Paani Ki Vani’ mascot was also unveiled, which will give the message of making people aware about water conservation. On this occasion, Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, MLA Anil Kumar Sharma were present.

Posting on social media account X, the Chief Minister said that every drop of rain is security for the future. If we save it where it falls, a big change in the water situation of Delhi is possible. Make ‘Catch the Rain’ not a campaign but a public habit. The Chief Minister said that rain water harvesting is the wisdom of our tradition, which has to be made a necessity of today. Steps taken by the government like subsidy up to Rs 50,000, 10 to 15 percent discount on water bills and free technical assistance are giving impetus to this direction. Now the aim is that every house, every roof and every institution should become an active part of this effort.

Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh said that there is no shortage of water in Delhi but there is a lack of thinking to save it. Now is the time to adopt rain water harvesting in every building, every society and every colony. This is not a campaign of the government, but of all of us.
