Delhi: Due to night rain and strong winds in Delhi NCR, the temperature came down and people got some relief from the scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of light rain for two days. At the same time, strong winds will also blow. This will keep the weather pleasant and people will get relief from the scorching heat. People were seen returning to their homes amid heavy rains in many areas of Delhi and Noida.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued ‘Yellow Alert’ for the next two days in Delhi. During this period, there are chances of getting relief from the heat due to rain. The weather department has warned of storm with rain and thunder. IMD has also made it clear that there will be no heat wave in Delhi next week. According to IMD, the maximum temperature on Sunday is expected to be around 36-38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be around 26-28 degrees Celsius.

“There is a possibility of very light to light rain with thunder, lightning and gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 km per hour on Sunday,” an IMD official said. Mahesh Palawat, Vice President, Skymet, said, “A new western disturbance is likely to affect the region in the coming days, which will lead to cyclonic circulation in the surrounding areas. Light rain may occur in some parts of the city for the next few days and there is no possibility of heat wave till at least the next week.” Meanwhile, the city’s air quality remained in the moderate category. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 144 (moderate) at 4 pm on Saturday, while the AQI was 120 at this time on Friday.
