SSB foils human trafficking attempt, safe rescue of 8 minor children
Supaul. A total of 8 minor children were safely rescued on Monday by foiling a possible attempt of human trafficking during checking duty at Check Post Bhimnagar by Border Post Bhimnagar under 45th Corps of Sashastra Seema Bal, Birpur on the Indo-Nepal border.
During this period 2 persons were arrested. Giving information in this regard, Commandant of 45th Corps, Gaurav Singh said that in view of the possibilities of human trafficking in the India-Nepal border area, an intensive investigation campaign is being conducted at all the border posts and check posts.
In the same sequence, during the checking duty at the check post Bhimnagar by the border post Bhimnagar, 08 minor children and 2 youths were stopped under suspicious circumstances while going from India to Nepal.
The children, who failed to produce valid citizenship documents and repeatedly changed statements during interrogation, were abducted from their homes for the purpose of child labor without informing their families.
The family was misled by saying that the children were being taken on a trip. One named his name Sundar Saada, age about 32 years, father Bhola Rishidev, village Madhuban, ward number 11.
Municipality Barha, Police Station Lokhi, District Sunsari (Nepal) and the other gave his name as Umesh Rishidev, age about 38 years, father Meghnath Rishidev, Village Madhuban, Ward No. 11, Municipality Barha, Police Station Lokhi, District Sunsari (Nepal). All the persons were confirmed to be residents of Nepal.
Initial investigation revealed the fact that they were brought from Nepal to India by two Nepali smugglers on the pretext of travel, where all the minor children were going back to Nepal after making them do illegal labour.
In view of the seriousness of the situation, necessary legal action was taken in the presence of Anti Human Trafficking Unit of 45th Corps and all the rescued minor children were handed over to Nepal Prahari Bhatawari, District Sunsari, Nepal for further action.
