The aura of Madhya Pradesh’s Bagh Print spread in Paris, the art got international recognition

Bhopal . Madhya Pradesh’s rich cultural and handicraft heritage ‘Bagh Print’ has set new dimensions of success in the international exhibition organized in Paris, the capital of France. This is an effective step towards providing global market to the traditional arts of the state.

The visionary leadership and special efforts of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) Amrit Raj have played an important role in this international achievement. Under his guidance, a strong action plan has been prepared with the aim of providing a global platform to the handicraftsmen, due to which the art of Madhya Pradesh is getting recognition at the international level. It is due to the efforts of Amrit Raj that local craftsmen are getting technical support and marketing opportunities as per the modern global demand, which has led to the revival of a rare art like Bagh Print.

Public Relations Officer Anurag Uike said on Tuesday that National Awardee craftsman Mohammad Bilal Khatri is giving live demonstration of Bilal Khatri Bagh Print in Europe’s most prestigious fair ‘Foyer de Paris’ held in Paris. These have been selected by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The artworks created by him on cloth using natural colors and wood stamps have become the center of attraction for international visitors and experts.

During the fair, Third Secretary of the Indian Embassy Wardha Khan and First Secretary Madhav R. Salphule inspected the Indian pavilion. Appreciating the skills of Bilal Khatri, he experienced block printing himself. Describing it as a precious part of Indian culture, he praised the dedication of the craftsmen of Madhya Pradesh. Let us tell you that this fair is being organized from 30 April to 11 May 2026.
