Washington. US President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced to stop Project Freedom for the time being. This mission was to rescue ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump took this decision citing requests received from Pakistan and other countries. However, the naval blockade of Iran’s ports will continue.

US President Donald Trump has announced to temporarily stop Project Freedom, which was started to safely rescue commercial ships stuck in the Strait of Hormuz. But the naval blockade of Iran’s ports will continue as before.

Sharing this information on the social media platform ‘Truth Social’, the US President said, “At the request of Pakistan and other countries, and in view of the tremendous success our military has achieved in the campaign against Iran—as well as taking into account that considerable progress has been made towards a full and final agreement with representatives of Iran—we have decided by mutual consent, ‘Project Freedom’ (movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz) “Will be stopped for some time. However, the blockade will remain in force so that it can be seen whether the agreement can be finalized or not.”

Trump had announced the project on Sunday, saying that countries around the world had asked for America’s help in getting their ships out safely. After this, the American Central Command started this operation on Monday.

The special thing is that under this operation, America was able to safely rescue two ships on Monday and only one ship on Tuesday. Whereas before the start of the US-Israel conflict with Iran, an average of 125 ships passed through Hormuz every day. Angered by this US campaign, Iran had warned that no ship can pass through this route without its permission. After this, Iran attacked a South Korean ship in Hormuz. Also carried out missile attacks on UAE.
