Union Minister Vaishnav’s claim: Google is looking for investment in AI and drone manufacturing in India.

New Delhi. The digital and technological ambitions of the central government can get a big boost. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed on Friday that Google is exploring investment possibilities in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure, servers and drone manufacturing in India.

Sharing details of the meeting held with Google officials on social media platform X, the minister said that the company is seriously assessing opportunities for AI-based technologies and electronics manufacturing in India. He said that Google is also looking at investment opportunities in the development of AI infrastructure in the country as well as in server and drone manufacturing.

Experts believe that this initiative of Google can give a new impetus to India’s rapidly emerging AI ecosystem. This is expected to create new employment and investment opportunities in the field of high-tech manufacturing, data processing and digital innovation in the country.

It is noteworthy that in April this year, Google had laid the foundation stone of a $15 billion AI hub in Visakhapatnam. The central government is also continuously taking policy steps to promote semiconductor, electronics manufacturing and AI technologies. In such a situation, Google’s potential investment plans are being considered important towards making India a global technology hub.
