CPL 2026: Trinbago Knight Riders retain Pollard, Pooran and Narine

New Delhi. Teams have started finalizing their squads for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026. Defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders have retained their strong West Indian core and have re-inducted Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Sunil Narine and Akeal Hossain into the squad. Akil Hossain, who was the player of the match in last season’s final, will also remain with the team.

At the same time, star all-rounder Andre Russell will now be seen playing for the new franchise Jamaica Kingsmen in CPL 2026. Rovman Powell has also joined the team along with him. Powell will take over the captaincy of the team. Earlier, he had led Jamaica Tallawahs to the title in 2022.

Jamaica Kingsmen have also included 19-year-old left-arm wrist spinner Vitale Laws in the squad. Lawes, who performed brilliantly in the Under-19 World Cup 2026, took 10 wickets in five matches and was the most successful bowler for West Indies.

Guyana Amazon Warriors’ leading spinner Gudakesh Moti will now play for Barbados Tridents. Moti had a brilliant partnership with Imran Tahir last season and played an important role in helping the team win the CPL and Global Super League titles. Barbados has also retained West Indies opener Brandon King.

Guyana Amazon Warriors have included Khary Pierre in place of Moti. The team has also retained Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Romario Shepherd and Shamar Joseph. Apart from this, Quentin Sampson will also remain in the team.
