This decade is becoming a decade of disasters for the world: PM Modi
New Delhi. PM Modi reached Netherlands on Saturday during his current foreign tour of five countries. There, while addressing the Indian community, he once again mentioned the current situation of Corona crisis.
He said, “Many big challenges are facing humanity today. First Corona came, then wars started and now there is today’s energy crisis. This decade is becoming a decade of disasters for the world.”
On February 28, America and Israel started attacks on Iran. After these attacks, war started in the Middle East and Iran almost closed the Strait of Hormuz, an important sea route of the region, causing a worldwide oil and gas crisis.
What did PM Modi say
Image caption, PM Modi addressed the Indian community in the Netherlands. Normally, about 20 percent of the oil and gas supply to countries around the world passes through the Strait of Hormuz. Its closure has had a very bad impact on the supply.
Due to this, inflation has increased and measures to control energy consumption have been adopted in many countries. In India too, due to the impact of the US-Israel war with Iran, the prices of oil and gas have increased and this crisis has also had a negative impact on business.
PM Modi said in Hague, Netherlands, “We are all seeing that if this situation does not change rapidly, the achievements of the last several decades will be nullified. A large population of the world will again fall into the quagmire of poverty.”
