New Delhi. The Election Commission has started the survey and verification process of voters under the third phase of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim and Manipur. More than 3.68 crore voters will be verified in this phase. The Commission said that this process has been started with the aim of including eligible people in the voter list and keeping out ineligible persons.

The Election Commission said that under Article 324 of the Constitution and Section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, an order for special intensive review was issued in 16 states and three union territories on May 14, 2026. Under this, the survey and verification phase of voters has started from May 30 in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim and Manipur. The names of voters whose enumeration forms are received by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) by June 28 will be included in the draft voter list.

According to the Commission, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will go door-to-door and provide enumeration forms to the existing voters. Voters will be able to submit the filled forms through BLO or online. Voters who will not be able to submit the form by the stipulated time will be able to apply by filling Form-6 along with the declaration form during the period of claims and objections.
