Heated altercation between MP Sanjay Singh and administrative officials in Circuit House

Prayagraj. Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh was interacting with the competing students at the Circuit House in Prayagraj, when Additional District Magistrate (ADM) City Satyam Mishra and DCP City Manish Kumar Shandilya reached there with heavy police force. The officials asked the MP to go aside and talk, which enraged the MP and he scolded the administrative officials.

Sanjay Singh said that he became an officer by passing the same exam which is being discussed. They raised the question whether he was breaking law and order, which is why people came to stop him. The MP clearly said that the Circuit House is a public place and no one here has the right to stop the discussion going on behind closed doors.

He further said that if he was organizing a program at a public place or on the road, then prevention would have been possible, but doing so at the Circuit House is a violation of democratic rights. He also said that he will complain about this entire matter to the Privilege Committee.

The MP told the officials, “This is the first time I am seeing that the administration is saying don’t talk about paper leak. Lives of lakhs of students are being ruined and this issue should be a topic of discussion.” The MP also said that the Circuit House was built with public money and it is wrong to allege any anti-national activity here.

A large number of policemen were present outside when ADM City and DCP reached the auditorium, but the MP continued the dialogue and warned the officials not to violate democratic rights. This incident has increased the debate on the issue of authority and interference between the administration and the political representative.
