Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate development projects worth Rs 21800 crore in Gujarat and Daman
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Daman tomorrow (June 5). During this, he will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone and dedicate various development projects worth about Rs 18,800 crore in Surat, Gujarat and about Rs 2,970 crore in Daman. Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of port projects worth Rs 885 crore for Lakshadweep.
The Prime Minister’s Office today said that he will reach Hazira in Surat district at around 2:30 pm tomorrow to review the ongoing industrial activities and infrastructure projects there.
After this, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs 18,800 crore related to roads, energy and industrial sectors and address the public meeting.
In Surat, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation Package-6 and Package-7 of the Vadodara-Mumbai eight-lane access controlled expressway. He will also lay the foundation stone of the project to four-lane important parts of National Highway-56. This will strengthen the connectivity of tribal areas and make access to the Statue of Unity easier.
During this, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 200-bed ESIC hospital in Surat. The hospital will have a central laboratory with various specialist medical services and 24-hour emergency and trauma care facilities. He will also inaugurate Gujarat’s transmission network expansion project under the interstate power transmission system.
He will also inaugurate the utility projects of power distribution system upgradation in Valsad, Dahej Petroleum-Chemical and Petro-Chemical Investment Region and waste disposal and treatment infrastructure in Sarigam Industrial Development Corporation and Jambusar Bulk Drug Park.
After this he will go to Daman and inaugurate the new terminal building of the airport at around 6:15 pm and dedicate NaMo Hospital to the nation. After this he will inaugurate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth about Rs 2,970 crore.
Projects worth about Rs 1,340 crore will be dedicated to the nation in Daman, prominent among which are the new terminal building of Namo Airport and Namo Hospital. The new terminal will strengthen regional air connectivity, while the hospital will be able to serve approximately 1,500 outpatients per day.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for projects worth about Rs 1,630 crore. Among these, the iconic bridge, Daman Convention Center and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campus are prominent. These projects are expected to boost tourism, investment, employment and infrastructure.
He will also lay the foundation stone of four important port projects worth Rs 885 crore for Lakshadweep. These include development of port facilities on the eastern and western coasts of Kalpeni and Kadmat Islands.
The construction of these multipurpose jetties will enable year-round operation of cruise and passenger ships up to 300 meters long. Facilities like passenger and freight handling, fish processing, fuel distribution, ice supply and boat repair will also be developed in the projects.
