Airtrunk company’s big investment in India, announcement of construction of 5 gigawatt data center

New Delhi. Australia’s hyperscale data center company AirTrunk has announced plans to invest about Rs 3 lakh crore and develop 5 gigawatt data center capacity in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared photos of his meeting with the founder and CEO of AirTrunk on social media platform X, saying India’s digital infrastructure journey is progressing rapidly. AirTrunk has announced plans to invest approximately Rs 3 lakh crore in India and develop 5 gigawatt data center capacity. This is one of the largest investments proposed in the digital infrastructure sector of the country.

He said that this investment will further strengthen India’s global position in the field of cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI). This will also generate employment opportunities on a large scale, boost local supply chains and accelerate innovation-based development. Modi said India is emerging as a major hub of the world’s digital economy and it is clear that the future of the global digital economy is rapidly taking shape in India.
