Indian women’s team won against Pakistan by 64 runs

ICC Women’s T20 World: In the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, the Indian team has started the tournament with a bang by winning its first match of Group A against Pakistan by 64 runs. Team India, batting first in this match, had scored 170 runs, after which the Pakistani team was limited to 106 runs. In Team India’s victory in this match, Deepti Sharma performed brilliantly with the ball and took 5 wickets.

Pakistani team trapped in the intrigues of Deepti and Shri Charani
In this match against the Indian team, the opening pair of Mubina Ali and Gul Faroz gave a fast start to the Pakistani team which was chasing the target of 171 runs and made a partnership of 38 runs for the first wicket. After this, Deepti Sharma, who came to bowl in the 5th over, gave the first blow to Pakistan in the form of Gul Faroz who returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs. After this, Pakistani team witnessed a series of wickets falling at regular intervals in which half of their team had returned to the pavilion by the time the score was 77. After this, the Indian bowlers did not give them any chance to make a comeback, in which the Pakistani team’s innings was reduced to 106 runs in 17 overs. While Deepti Sharma took 5 wickets in the match, Shree Charani took three wickets while Shafali Verma took one wicket.

Mandhana showed amazing performance with the bat
In her first match of T20 World Cup 2026 against Pakistan, Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur had decided to bat first after winning the toss, in which she lost the first two wickets at the score of 18. From here, Smriti Mandhana along with captain Harmanpreet Kaur not only made a partnership of 91 runs for the third wicket but also worked to put Team India in a strong position. Smriti Mandhana scored an inning of 68 runs in 44 balls in this match, apart from this, Harmanpreet Kaur played an inning of 36 runs. Richa Ghosh, who came to bat in the last overs of the innings, played an important role in taking Team India to the score of 170 runs by playing an aggressive innings of 34 runs in just 17 balls. Now the Indian team will play its next match in this T20 World Cup against the Netherlands women’s team on June 17 at Headingley ground.
