Shri Ram Katha completed in Parmarth Niketan, Swami Chidanand gave message on environmental protection
Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. The 34-day divine and grand Shri Ram Katha organized at Parmarth Niketan came to an emotional end today. At the conclusion of the story, the holy presence, blessings and inspirational address of Parmarth Niketan’s Peethadhishwar, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, International President of Parmarth Niketan, Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati Ji, Dr. Paramhans Ramprasad Maharaj and Bapu Ji were received.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati, while thanking Manas Katha Vyas Sant Murlidhar Ji, Bhaktimati Meena and the entire Kulariya family on the occasion of the 34-day long Sri Ram Manas Katha, said that their dedication, devotion and spirit of service made this Katha not just a religious event, but a spiritual Mahayagya that sanctifies the lives of the people. The arrangement of a huge Bhandara along with the Katha, convenient shelter for hundreds of devotees and providing a divine opportunity to listen to the Katha continuously is indeed an exemplary service.
Swami said that the real essence of Shri Ram Katha is not just in listening to the story, but in bringing it to life. No matter what the circumstances are, no matter how many ups and downs there are in life, if our inner state remains stable, calm and positive, then that is the true message of the story. We cannot always control external circumstances, but we can definitely control our thoughts, feelings and attitude. This is spirituality, this is Ramatva.
Swami said that the entire life of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap was dedicated to protecting the sovereignty, identity and glorious traditions of Mewar. Recalling the sacred land of Rajasthan, he said that this land has provided India with both strength and devotion. It is a land of bravery, sacrifice, dedication and devotion. This land gave birth to great personalities like Maharana Pratap, the symbol of power, Shiromani Mirabai, the devotee of immortal stream of devotion and Bhamashah, the ideal of national service and charity. We get inspiration from his life that when power, devotion and service are coordinated, then the pride of the nation and society increases.
Paying heartfelt tribute to Jijabai today on her death anniversary, Swami said that history is not made only by wars and victories, but by the resolve, values and sacrifices of those great souls who give direction to the eras. Jijabai was such a divine personality. She was the foundation stone of that national consciousness which gave birth to the dream of Hindu Swaraj.
As a mother she not only gave birth to her son but also imparted in him the highest values of religion, duty, compassion, justice and patriotism. He instilled in Shivaji the feeling that the purpose of power is not selfishness, but public welfare and protection of religion.
Let us take inspiration from his life and resolve to build such a characterful, compassionate and nationalistic society, where ideals like Shivaji and divine maternal power like Jijabai emerge from every home.
Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati ji said that we all have been listening to the sacred banks of Mother Ganga for the last 34 days. Now along with listening to the story, we will also have to live the story. We have to ask ourselves that Shri Ram Charitra Manas changed us, now we have to make some positive changes in our family, society and nation.
We have to start Ram Rajya from where we are. When we go back to our homes, let us try to live like Mother Sita, Shri Ram Ji and Hanuman Ji. We will have to do sadhana to bring back the kingdom of Shri Ram. From here you must take Ganga water to your home, but also take the divine message of Mother Ganga with you.
Dr. Paramhans Ramprasad Maharaj said that everyone had the great privilege of listening to the Manas-Gyan Ganga flowing continuously from the mouth of Saint Muralidhar Maharaj on the holy banks of Ganga at Parmarth Niketan. I also continuously received affectionate blessings and inspirational speeches from Swami Chidanand Saraswati, Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati ji and saints, which actually provides a positive direction to life and awakens spiritual consciousness. Parmarth Niketan is a divine pilgrimage site in itself, sitting in this divine abode and listening to the story is a heavenly pleasure.
At the closing ceremony, pledges were taken for environmental protection and cleanliness. The devotees pledged to contribute actively towards water conservation, tree plantation, adopting plastic free lifestyle and cleanliness and uninterrupted flow of all the rivers including Mother Ganga. This divine Ram Katha, which lasted for 34 days, illuminated the lives of thousands of devotees with spiritual energy, cultural consciousness and positive inspiration. Many thanks to Manas family, Shankar Kulariya, Dharam Kulariya, Mata Harpriya and all Manas lovers.
