Bikaner – Lalgarh – Ahmedabad Express train service started from Bikaner Railway Station.

Bikaner . Union Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting and Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal inaugurated the Bikaner-Lalgarh-Amdawad (Sabarmati) Express train service from Bikaner Railway Station on Sunday and flagged off the train.

On this occasion, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Railway Ministry is working on an ambitious plan to connect the border areas of Rajasthan with a strong rail network. Under this, a project has been taken up to connect many villages of Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Sriganganagar and Barmer districts with railway facilities. He informed that various processes including preparation of DPR of this project are in progress. Vaishnav said that 1,300 railway stations across the country are being redeveloped under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Work on many stations has been completed. He informed that tender will be issued again in the month of June for the redevelopment of Bikaner Railway Station. He said that various railway stations including Jaisalmer have been equipped with modern facilities, which are being appreciated by tourists from India and abroad.

The Railway Minister said that the Prime Minister has a resolve to make India a developed nation by the year 2047. Along with the government, every citizen, youth, farmers and women also have an important role in realizing this. Giving information about the railway doubling works completed and in progress in the area, he said that the railway line from Lalgarh to Bikaner railway station will also be doubled. Referring to the plan of construction of railway bypass from Nal to Palana, Vaishnav said that its construction will reduce the movement of goods trains within the city, which will ease the traffic and will also reduce pollution.

Vaishnav said that after the start of the new train service from Bikaner to Ahmedabad, there are possibilities of operating other trains in future. He said that due to electrification of railway lines and expansion of infrastructure, the nature of railways will completely change in the coming times.

He informed that 24 model cargo Gati Shakti terminals are being developed to promote industries in the state, which includes six cargo terminals around Bikaner area. At present, railway development work worth about Rs 76 thousand crores is in progress in Rajasthan. After the completion of these works, a major change will be seen in the railway map of the state. The Railway Minister said that this year a budget of Rs 10,228 crore has been allocated to Rajasthan for railway development. Describing Bikaner as the land of bravery and tradition, he mentioned the Bhujia and Rasgullas here and praised the former royal family who contributed to the development of the Indira Gandhi Canal Project.

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal said that this is a historic and important day for Bikaner. This rail service started from Bikaner to Ahmedabad will prove beneficial for thousands of passengers. He expressed his gratitude to the Railway Minister for operating the Bikaner-Delhi Vande Bharat Express. Meghwal said that work is being done rapidly towards solving the age-old problems like Court Gate Railway Gate and Sankhla Railway Gate of the city.

The new Bikaner (Lalgarh) – Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) Express train service will provide direct, fast and convenient rail connectivity between Gujarat and Rajasthan. This new express will connect two major tourist areas of Western India. Access to Gujarat’s famous Sabarmati Riverfront, Modhera Sun Temple, Rani Ki Bav of Patan and the rich heritage of Ahmedabad and the rich culture and desert tourist places of Rajasthan’s Junagarh Fort, Karni Mata Temple, Lalgarh Palace and Bikaner will become easier.

The new train service will benefit passengers from Ahmedabad, Mahesana, Patan and Banaskantha districts of Gujarat and Jalore, Balotra, Jodhpur, Nagaur and Bikaner districts of Rajasthan. The major stops of the train will be Sabarmati, Mahesana, Patan, Bhildi, Dhanera, Raniwada, Marwar Bhinmal, Modran, Jalore, Mokalsar, Samdari, Luni, Jodhpur, Gotan, Merta Road, Nagaur, Nokha, Bikaner and Lalgarh stations. With the commencement of this new rail service covering a distance of about 740 kilometers, daily rail connectivity has been established between Bikaner and Ahmedabad. This will provide special facilities to students, employed people, businessmen, tourists and common travelers. Besides, trade, tourism, cultural exchange and regional development between the two states will get new momentum.

On this occasion, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, Bikaner East MLA Siddhi Kumari, Khajuwala MLA Dr. Vishwanath Meghwal, Bikaner West MLA Jethanand Vyas, Sridungargarh MLA Tarachand Saraswat, North Western Railways General Manager Amitabh, Divisional Railway Manager Gaurav Govil, Shyam Panchariya, Suman Chhajed, Champalal Gadar, public representatives, railway officials and a large number of general public were present.
