Shahjahanpur: Police caught two wanted accused who were preparing for cow slaughter, one injured

Shahjahanpur. Two cow herders carrying a reward of Rs 10,000 each were arrested in an encounter between police and cow herders in Kant police station area of ​​Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

During the encounter, one of the accused was injured by a bullet in his leg, who has been admitted to the Government Medical College for treatment. His two companions fled from the spot and are being searched.

City Superintendent of Police Devendra Kumar said on Wednesday that information was received about the presence of cow slaughterers wanted in the Gangster Act case near Jindo culvert on Kant-Madnapur Road and preparations for cow slaughter.

Seeing the Kant police, which reached the spot after receiving information, two accused fled away on the motorcycle, while two others opened fire on the police team.

In retaliatory action by the police, Bareilly resident Mohammad Shakir was shot in the leg. After this the police arrested Mohammad Shakir and Dharamveer with illegal weapons. Both the accused were wanted in a case of Gangster Act and a reward of Rs 10,000 each was declared on them.

SP City said that the arrested accused have given the names of absconding associates as Mohammad Sanu, resident of Bareilly and Anees, resident of Pilibhit. According to the police, the four accused had come to the area with the intention of cow slaughter. Police teams have been deployed to arrest the absconding accused.
