Madhya Pradesh gets a big industrial gift, PepsiCo’s state-of-the-art flavor concentrate plant will start soon
Ujjain. The country’s second PepsiCo flavor concentrate manufacturing plant of PepsiCo India Holdings Private Limited has been completed in Vikram Udyogpuri, an industrial area located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. It will be inaugurated today on Tuesday. This project will provide employment to 800 people of the state.
Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) Director Rajesh Rathore said that this state-of-the-art plant, established in an area of 22 acres with an investment of about Rs 1266 crore, will manufacture flavor concentrate for beverages.
There are only two plants for manufacturing this type of flavor concentrate in the country, establishment of one of which in Ujjain is a matter of pride for the state.
He said that this plant, equipped with modern technology and high level of automation, will produce the company’s major brands like Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Tropicana, Lay’s, Kurkure, Gatorade and Quaker as per the standards.
The operation of this state-of-the-art plant has generated more than 800 direct employment opportunities. Apart from this, macroeconomic activities will also be promoted in transportation, warehousing, logistics, packaging, supply chain and service sectors, which will create a large number of indirect employment opportunities.
Rathore said that the inauguration program of M/s PepsiCo India Holdings Private Limited, Ujjain-based regional office of MPIDC is being organized at 3:00 pm, in which Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is proposed to participate in the program as the chief guest. Minister in-charge Gautam Tetwal will be present as a special guest.
He said that Rajya Sabha MP Balayogi Umeshnath Maharaj, MP Anil Firojia, MLAs Anil Jain Kaluheda, Satish Malviya, Tej Bahadur Singh Chauhan and Jitendra Singh Pandya, Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, Municipal Corporation Chairman Kalavati Yad and other dignitaries will be present in the programme.
On behalf of the company, Eugene Willemsen (Chief Executive Officer, International Beverages), Jagrut Kotecha (Chief Executive Officer, India and South Asia, PepsiCo) and Evan Norton (General Manager and Senior Vice President and Franchise Supply Chain) will be present.
