Will Vaibhav Suryavanshi debut with Team India today? Speculation increased due to Instagram post
Manchester: India’s young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has fueled speculations about his international debut with his social media post. Before the second T20 match between India and England, Vaibhav wrote “New Chapter” with his picture on Instagram Story. After this, discussion started among cricket fans whether he can get a chance in the playing eleven of Team India today. However, the Indian team management has not made any official confirmation in this regard.
Vaibhav is currently on England tour with the Indian team. Earlier, he was also expected to make his debut during the Ireland tour, but he did not get the chance. Even in the first T20 against England, he did not become a part of the playing eleven. Now before the second match, his Instagram story has further intensified the speculations.
However, bowling coach Morne Morkel had indicated before the match that the team management was not in favor of much change. He said that Abhishek Sharma is the number-1 batsman of T20 and Sanju Samson also performed brilliantly in the last T20 World Cup. In such a situation, the team wants to maintain faith in the players. Morkel’s statement made it clear that the team does not want to make major changes without a solid reason.
Former cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and AB de Villiers had also raised questions about Vaibhav not getting a chance in the first two matches. He believed that when the team has taken young players along, they should also get opportunities.
Vaibhav, who became the youngest cricketer to be selected for Team India at the age of 15 years and 71 days, has performed brilliantly in recent months. He scored the fastest List-A half-century for India-A against Sri Lanka-A in 11 balls. In IPL 2026, he scored 776 runs for Rajasthan Royals and also scored a century. In such a situation, now all eyes are on whether Vaibhav Suryavanshi will finally get a chance to make his international debut for India in the second T20 match to be held in Manchester today or not.
