Guwahati. Assam government minister Piyush Hazarika took a dig at Assam Pradesh Congress President Gaurav Gogoi, saying that his continuation on the post of state president is a “plus point” for the BJP. Hazarika was talking to journalists after attending a program last night.
Piyush Hazarika said that he is not demanding resignation from Gaurav Gogoi. He said that earlier there has been a tradition in Congress for the state president to resign after a crushing defeat in the elections.
He alleged that Gaurav Gogoi, breaking that tradition, has not left the post of president despite the defeat. Hazarika sarcastically said that Gaurav Gogoi’s continuation as president is proving politically beneficial for the BJP.
