Special Yagya, today’s Ganga Aarti dedicated on the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee

Rishikesh. On the auspicious occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the pioneer of Akhand Bharat, ardent nationalist, visionary educationist and founder of Bharatiya Jan Sangh, Parmarth Niketan President Swami Chidanand Saraswati, while paying heartfelt tribute, said that Dr. Mukherjee’s entire life was dedicated to the ideals of patriotism, cultural identity, education, self-reliance and national unity. His life gives the message of nation supreme to the youth.

Swami said that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was a vigilant guardian of India’s cultural soul, a unique thinker and a visionary nation builder. He considered education not only as a medium of acquiring knowledge but also as the basis of character building, national consciousness and social responsibility. Today, when India is moving towards self-reliance, innovation, environmental protection, cultural renaissance and global leadership, Dr. Mukherjee’s vision of a strong, prosperous and self-reliant India is more relevant than ever.

Swami Chidanand Saraswati said that Dr. Mukherjee’s slogan that two constitutions, two leaders and two symbols will not work in one country was not just a political slogan, but it is a declaration of his unwavering loyalty towards the integrity, unity and national identity of India. Keeping the national interest paramount, he made the supreme sacrifice of his life. His sacrifice will always remain a source of inspiration for the coming generations.

Swami said that India’s eternal culture gives us the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, but only a nation whose roots are strong in its culture, values and national unity can lead the world family. Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee had envisioned an India that was spiritually rich, economically self-reliant, socially harmonious and culturally awakened by tying together Indian culture, education and nationalism.

He said that today’s youth should emulate the invaluable qualities of courage, loyalty, national service and leadership from the life of Dr. Mukherjee. Nation building is possible only through participation, service, discipline, morality and positive contribution. Only when the youth adopt excellent character, spirit of service and patriotism in their lives, India will be more capable of showing the world the path of peace, sustainable development, spirituality and human values.

Come, on his 125th birth anniversary, let us take a pledge that by performing our duties sincerely, we will move forward on the path of service, dedication, goodwill and patriotism and will contribute in building an India which is spiritually awakened, culturally rich, environmentally responsible and a source of inspiration for the world.

Today, Parmarth Niketan extended hearty greetings to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, who gave the invaluable message of compassion, peace, non-violence and humanity to the world, on his 91st birthday. His entire life is a living expression of compassion, love, tolerance, dialogue and universal human values. We pray to God that His Holiness the Dalai Lama always remains healthy, long-lived and energetic and may his divine inspiration continue to lead humanity on the path of love, harmony, co-existence and spiritual awakening. May his compassionate thoughts further strengthen the spirit of peace, unity and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam in the entire world.
