French Football Federation will take legal action
The French Football Federation (FFF) described the matter as serious and announced the filing of a criminal complaint.

The FFF added, “Such comments bring shame not only to those who said them, but also to those who spread them. France national team players represent France and are an insult to our country.”

Paraguay government also distanced itself from the statement
The Paraguayan government issued an official statement saying it condemned Amarilla’s comments.

The government said, “We strongly condemn these statements. They are completely contrary to the values ​​of human dignity, respect and peaceful co-existence espoused by our country.”

The statement also said,
“These comments are the personal responsibility of the MP concerned and in no way represent the official opinion of the Paraguayan government or the Paraguayan public.”

French Presidential Office’s response
French President Emmanuel Macron’s office said Paraguay’s president had written a letter to Macron expressing regret over the incident and condemning the racist remarks.
