Heavy rain in eastern and southern districts of Rajasthan, alert of heavy rain till July 10

  • Orange alert issued in Bharatpur, Dholpur, Baran and Jhalawar.

  • Life affected due to waterlogging in Alwar, Karauli and Chittorgarh.

Jaipur. Monsoon is fully active in Rajasthan. On Wednesday, heavy rains were seen in the eastern and southern parts of the state. Many areas of Bharatpur and Udaipur divisions received rainfall of up to three inches, leading to waterlogging on roads in many districts.

According to the Meteorological Department report, life and traffic was affected due to rain in many cities including Alwar, Karauli, Chittorgarh and Bharatpur.

Heavy rain occurred at many places in Udaipur and Sirohi till late evening. Due to continuous rainfall, people in most parts of the state have got relief from the scorching heat and humidity.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy rains will continue in the state till July 10. Orange alert has been issued in Bharatpur, Dholpur, Baran and Jhalawar districts for Thursday. Yellow alert has been declared in most of the districts except Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur and Jalore.

According to the department, there is a possibility of reduction in monsoon activities from July 11 and the rainy season will weaken. Bayana in Bharatpur district and Mandrayal in Karauli received 84 mm (more than three inches) of rainfall during the last 24 hours.

Bhadesar and Nimbahera in Chittorgarh district also received rainfall of about three inches. Apart from this, good rainfall was also measured in Dausa, Dholpur, Karauli, Alwar and Chechat area of ​​Kota district.

Due to continuous rains, the temperature of the state has dropped significantly. The maximum temperature remained below 35 degrees Celsius in Jaipur, Alwar, Tonk, Chittorgarh, Sirohi, Dausa, Pratapgarh, Jhunjhunu, Ajmer and Bhilwara.

The highest temperature of the state was measured in Jaisalmer at 41.6 degrees Celsius. Due to heavy rains in Alwar, roads were flooded, due to which traffic was affected.

At the same time, three-storey stairs and the roof of a building in Chetak Complex of Banswara collapsed. However, there is no report of any casualty. In Bikaner too, heavy rain on Wednesday evening brought great relief to the people from the heat and humidity.
