BJP office in Sangrur, Punjab attacked with petrol bomb, SIT formed, security increased

Chandigarh. BJP office in Sangrur, Punjab was attacked with petrol bomb late night. A portion of the office wall was damaged in the incident. Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case and security at the BJP office has been beefed up.

According to the police, the incident took place between 2.30 and 3 am on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the attackers filled petrol in a glass bottle and threw it towards the office premises.

Sangrur SP Devendra Attri said that on Monday morning, information was received about an attack on the BJP office by throwing a bottle. After which police teams led by DSP Dalbir Singh and police station in-charge reached the spot.

Initial investigation has revealed that the bottle was thrown over the wall of the outdoor garden.
Which fell between two parts of the building. Marks of fire were also found at the spot. At present the matter is being investigated from every aspect, so not much information can be shared right now. A case will be registered against those who have done this mischief and strict action will be taken.

Meanwhile, Sangrur BJP leader Randeep Deol said that on Monday morning the caretaker told that there was a fire in the office, he sent its photos. He immediately gave this information to State BJP President Kewal Dhillon. After this the police came here.
