BHEL gets the largest international order for gas turbine from Nigeria

Haridwar. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won a significant international order for supply and commissioning of eight Gas Turbine Generator Packages from Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise, Nigeria.

This information was given by the Communication and Public Relations Department of BHEL’s Haridwar unit on Wednesday. This order has been received amidst tough global competition.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise, a Dangote Group company, is one of Africa’s leading industrial groups with businesses spanning oil refining, petrochemicals, fertilizers, cement, sugar and other sectors.

According to the company, this is BHEL’s largest ever single order in the gas turbine sector, both in terms of quantity and value.

These equipment will be manufactured at BHEL’s Hyderabad and Bengaluru units. The company has described this as proof of its technical capability and competitive strength in the global engineering sector.

BHEL said that the company has already supplied various products and equipment to many countries in Africa. It has a strong presence in countries like Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, Rwanda, Senegal and Sudan.

BHEL has been manufacturing and supplying gas turbines in India and abroad for more than four decades. The company has a record of supply of approximately 250 gas turbines, of which more than 20 percent have been provided to foreign customers.
