Most wickets for India in T20Is: Bumrah becomes second Indian to take 100 wickets
Jasprit Bumrah on Tuesday became the second Indian bowler to pick 100 wickets in T20 Internationals during India’s first match against South Africa in Cuttack.
He dismissed Dewald Brevis in the second innings to complete the milestone. Bumrah needed 81 matches to reach the haul.
Arshdeep Singh was the first Indian to achieve the feat. He completed 100 wickets during the Asia Cup earlier this year, securing the mark in just his 64th match. He now has 107 wickets from 69 games.
Bumrah is now only the fifth bowler to register 100 wickets in all three formats. Tim Southee, Lasith Malinga, Shakib Al Hasan, and Shaheen Afridi are the others in this list.
Here are India’s highest wicket-takers in T20Is:
- Arshdeep Singh – 107 wickets (69 matches)
- Jasprit Bumrah – 101 wickets (81 matches)
- Hardik Pandya – 99 wickets (121 matches)
