Who is Auqib Nabi, the J&K all-rounder bought by Delhi Capitals at IPL 2026 Auction?
All-rounder Auqib Nabi was bought by Delhi Capitals for a price of Rs. 8.40 crore at the IPL 2026 auction being held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Delhi Capitals initiated the bidding for Nabi before Rajasthan Royals pushed his price to Rs. 1 crore. Royal Challengers Bengaluru joined in the hunt after the Royals backed out as the asking price shot past the five-crore mark.
DC and Sunrisers Hyderabad then began to tussle it out Nabi before the former secured his signing, making him one of the highest paid uncapped player in the tournament history.
The J&K pacer will play in the IPL for the first time in his career. He is the leading wicket-taker among pacers in the 2025 Ranji Trophy, with 29 scalps in five matches.

The 29-year-old has been making headlines in the domestic circuit with his ability to swing the ball both ways. This year, he has carried over his red-ball form into the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as well, picking up 15 wickets in seven matches. The medium-pacer also has a lethal yorker in his arsenal.
His long levers also help him clear the boundary with ease and will only further his case for inclusion in one of the franchises.
