Will Cameron Green bowl for KKR in IPL 2026, after being picked for Rs. 25.20 crore in Auction?

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders during the IPL 2026 Auction in Dubai on Tuesday.

Green had entered the auction as a batter and was sold from the first set on Tuesday.

But, the 26-year-old had confirmed last week that he would be available to bowl in the tournament. He also clarified that he listed himself in the IPL auction in the batters’ category instead of the expected all-rounders’ lot due to a mistake by his manager.

“I’ll be good to bowl,” said Green on Sunday in Adelaide. “I don’t know if my manager would like to hear this, but there was a stuff-up on his end. He didn’t mean to say ‘batter’. I think he accidentally selected the wrong box. It was pretty funny how it’s all played out, but it was actually a stuff-up on his end.”

Green has an impressive IPL record, having scored 707 runs at a strike rate of 153.69 across two seasons with Mumbai Indians in 2023 and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2024, along with 16 wickets with his right-arm pace.
