Vrinda Dinesh, Anushka Sharma help India A win over Pakistan A at Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars
India A’s Vrinda Dinesh and Anushka Sharma scored a majority of the required 94 runs required to beat Pakistan A on Sunday, while Tejal Hasabnis provided the final touches at the ongoing ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok.
Opener Humairaa Kaazi was sent back off the very first ball of the innings by pacer Waheeda Akhtar. While that would have instilled some belief in the Pakistani dugout, otherwise distraught after a poor show in the first innings, the feeling turned out to be shortlived.
Pacer Saima Thakor and spinners Radha Yadav and Prema Rawat contributed six wickets to India A’s eight-wicket win, taking two apiece. Pakistan’s Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored with 23 runs.
The Radha Yadav-led India A side opened its campaign with a seven-wicket defeat to UAE. Pakistan A, on the other hand, opened its campaign with a convincing 30-run win over Nepal.
With this win, India A jumps up to the second spot in Group A standings, with Pakistan slipping to third place. UAE is currently setting the pace in the pool, having won both its matches. The top two teams in the group will advance to the semifinals.
