The Senior Women’s One Day Trophy Elite semifinals took place on Thursday, with Delhi getting the better of Andhra and Railways defeating Chhattisgarh.
In the first semifinal, Delhi had the upper hand from the very start, with openers Priya Punia and Pragya Rawat putting up a 124-run stand. Shweta Sehrawat then scored a 73-ball 113.
The batter later combined with Tanisha Singh to help Delhi to a massive 340 for four in 50 overs. In reply, Andhra never looked settled in the match as it lost wickets at regular intervals and was eventually bundled out for 141.
In the other semifinal, Chhattisgarh had a good start, removing opener Nuzhat Parween for a duck. However, half-centuries from Arushi Goel and Bhavana Goplani helped Railways reach 173 for eight in 50 overs.
Though the total looked chaseable, Chhattisgarh could not capitalise and was bundled out for 146 in 49.5 overs.
