Mushfiqur Rahim breaks record for most Test hundreds for Bangladesh
Mushfiqur Rahim broke the record for most Test hundreds by a Bangladesh batter during the second Test against Pakistan in Sylhet on Monday.
Rahim notched up his 14th ton in the format in the second innings of the match to go past Mominul Haque’s tally of 13 centuries.
The seasoned wicketkeeper-batter is also Bangladesh’s top run scorer in the longest format, having amassed over 6,700 runs in 102 matches.
The 39-year-old has been a steady presence for Bangladesh across formats. He is also Bangladesh’s second-highest run-scorer in ODIs, with 7795 runs. He has also played over 100 T20Is for his country, scoring 1500 runs.
Rahim scored a crucial 71 in the first innings of the series opener against Pakistan as Bangladesh notched up a 104-run win in Mirpur.
Bangladesh leads the two-match Test series 1-0.
