Fatima Sana to skip Sri Lanka T20Is to play The Hundred: reports
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana will miss its T20I series against Sri Lanka in order to play for Birmingham Phoenix, a report from ESPNCricinfo has said.
According to the report, Fatima will miss the first two matches of The Hundred to play in the ODI leg of the tour before departing for England.
She became the first Pakistani woman to be called up to the tournament after replacing Lucy Hamilton in the Phoenix squad, and is only the third Pakistani player to earn a contract in The Hundred across the men’s and women’s tournaments this year.
Phoenix also signed mystery spinner Usman Tariq, while Sunrisers Leeds picked up Abrar Ahmed to significant backlash.
She had an impressive Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 despite Pakistan’s poor outing, finishing the tournament with the most wickets for a fast bowler – 11 wickets at an economy of 6.95.
