Arunachal Pradesh Budget 2026-27: Big announcement of Aerocity, MSME Mission and new hospitals
The Arunachal Pradesh government has presented a budget focused on development and economic expansion for the financial year 2026-27. State Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Chowna Mein While presenting his 12th consecutive budget in the Assembly, he announced several important schemes.
In this budget, special emphasis has been laid on the economic development of the state, expansion of infrastructure, improvement of health facilities and promotion of entrepreneurship. The government has announced the launch of many big schemes like Aerocity project, MSME mission, establishment of new district hospitals and increasing hydropower capacity.

The government has made a provision of Rs 90 crore for this in 2026-27. Under this project, business, hotel and conference facilities will be developed together. This is expected to boost tourism and trade activities.
The budget is focused on six key areas, including strengthening future infrastructure, development plans for the people, sustaining economic growth, promoting entrepreneurship and employment, better management of resources and administrative reforms.
The government says that by focusing on these sectors, the economic potential of the state will be enhanced and the standard of living of the people will be improved.
According to the government, the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) for 2026-27 is pegged at around Rs 41,314 crore at current prices.
Revenue receipts are estimated to be around Rs 30,733 crore, while capital receipts are likely to be Rs 5,873 crore. The state’s own revenue is estimated to be around Rs 5,208 crore, which includes both tax revenue and non-tax revenue.
The fiscal deficit is estimated to be around Rs 701 crore, which will be around 1.70 percent of the state’s GSDP.
The state government has announced to launch several schemes to strengthen the infrastructure. There are plans to invest around Rs 2,000 crore in the next three years under the Chief Minister State Rural Road Development Programme.
Under this scheme, roads and bridges will be constructed and improved in rural areas. A budget of Rs 500 crore has been kept for this for the year 2026-27.
Apart from this the capital region Itanagar And Naharlagun It has also been announced to study the possibility of modern transport systems such as monorail and ropeway services. A symbolic provision of Rs 1 crore has been made for this.
Hydropower has been considered an important pillar in the long-term economic strategy of Arunachal Pradesh. The government has declared the period from 2025 to 2035 as “Hydropower Decade”.
A target has been set to develop about 19 gigawatt hydropower capacity during this period. An investment of about Rs 1.9 lakh crore is estimated for this.
The government expects these projects to generate free electricity revenue of about Rs 4,520 crore between 2025 and 2035 and about Rs 4,100 crore every year thereafter.

In the field of education, the government will continue Mission Shiksha Arunachal 2029 and Golden Jubilee School Programme. Under this, the infrastructure and teaching facilities of schools will be improved.
The government has also announced the launch of Arunachal Pradesh Substance Abuse Prevention Mission to deal with the growing problem of drug addiction. Under this, programs related to prevention, treatment and rehabilitation will be run.
ARUN MSME Mission will be launched to encourage small industries in the state. Under this mission, 500 micro and small enterprises will be supported every year.
Other than this Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Swavalamban Yojana Under this also, financial assistance will continue to be provided to entrepreneurs. More than 2,300 people have benefited from this scheme so far.
A target has been set to provide assistance to more than 2,500 people under this scheme in the year 2026-27 and a provision of Rs 200 crore has been made for this.
Deputy Chief Minister Chauna Main said the budget is aimed at strengthening the state’s infrastructure, expanding social services and creating new economic opportunities.
He said the government’s long-term goal is to make Arunachal Pradesh an economically strong and socially inclusive state by 2047, when India will complete 100 years of its independence.
