Arvind Kejriwal had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to dismiss this case, but Kejriwal's petition has been rejected by the Supreme Court.

In fact, in the Narendra Modi degree case, Gujarat University had filed a defamation case against Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh in the court. Kejriwal had challenged the summons issued by the lower court in the Gujarat High Court, but did not get relief from there either. After this Kejriwal reached the Supreme Court. Now Kejriwal's petition has also been rejected. The defamation case was filed by Gujarat University Registrar Piyush Patel against the comments made by both the leaders regarding PM Modi's degree.

Kejriwal's petition was rejected because

Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice S. V.N. Bhatti's bench said that a different bench of the Supreme Court had already rejected Sanjay Singh's petition. “We have to adopt a similar approach,” the bench said.

role of high court

Gujarat High Court had rejected the petition of Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh on 16 February. In this petition, both the leaders had requested to cancel the summons issued by the lower court. The court gave this decision rejecting his request. As a result, the hearing of the defamation case against both the leaders will continue. Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh had approached the high court against the summons issued by the trial court in the defamation case filed by Gujarat University, but their revision petitions were rejected.
