Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated e-library in Goa, handed over digital power to students

Goa: A new hope was born in the field of education today at Our Lady of Patrosinio Community Center in Benaulim, Goa, when Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the e-library for the students.

This initiative has been started by MLA Captain Venji Viegas, which aims to ensure access to modern and quality education to every student of Goa.

What is available in e-library

More than 10,000 e-books are available in this e-library. Videos, simulations and practice modules have been prepared for all classes. Test facility is also provided for JEE, NEET, CLAT and more than 40 competitive exams.

The most important thing is that this facility is completely free, so that children from economically weaker families can get the same resources as students of big private schools.

Current status of education in Goa

The current education situation in Goa raises many questions. The number of government schools in the state has decreased from 906 to 789. Out of a total of 1,487 schools, there are 238 schools where only one teacher handles the responsibility of the entire school. But the lack of resources and teachers is clearly visible at the ground level. In such a time, initiatives like e-library have come as a big relief for the students.

Aam Aadmi Party’s education model

The model of education policy of Aam Aadmi Party was first implemented in Delhi and then progressed strongly in Punjab. Today almost 90 percent of government schools in Punjab have the facility of smart classes. Punjab retained the top position in the National Achievement Survey.

The state government sent 234 principals and education administrators for training in Singapore, 216 primary teachers were trained at the University of Turku in Finland and 199 headmasters were trained at IIM Ahmedabad. 1,908 campus managers and 1,316 security guards were appointed for government schools, making the school environment safe and orderly.

Basic objective of education policy

The basic objective of the education policy of Aam Aadmi Party is clear, to bring government schools at par with private schools. The party believes that poor and middle class children should also get high quality education, so that they can get better employment opportunities in future. Education is not just a degree, but a means to change the future.

Change in Goa even without power

Even though there is no Aam Aadmi Party government in Goa, the party’s public representatives are working in the field of education. E-library is an example of the fact that if there is political will, change can be initiated even without being in power.

Excitement at the inauguration ceremony

The enthusiasm among students and parents was clearly visible at the inauguration ceremony. People believe that if education is given priority then both society and state become stronger. This initiative is not limited to just books or digital resources, but it is a symbol of the thinking in which education is considered to be the biggest weapon of development by keeping it above politics.

Education is every child’s right

This e-library initiative, which started from the soil of Goa, is moving ahead with the message that quality education is the right of every child, and when policies are made in the right direction, even government schools can become centers of excellence.
