Kejriwal reached Jantar Mantar, said- ‘Make Sonam Wangchuk the education minister’

New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reached Jantar Mantar on Thursday where he extended support to the ongoing agitation by CJP against the education system and alleged paper leak. During this, he met Sonam Wangchuk who was on hunger strike and appreciated her struggle. While addressing the stage, Kejriwal said that Sonam Wangchuk is not fighting for her personal interest, but for the future of the youth and students of the country. He said that his long-running fast has brought to the fore serious questions related to the education system.

Gave warning to central government

In his address, Kejriwal appealed to the Central Government to listen to the voices of students and youth. He said that ignoring public sentiments can prove harmful for any government. Also, while referring to Anna Hazare movement, he said that instead of suppressing the voice of the public, it should be heard seriously.

Demand for resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan

Supporting the movement, Kejriwal reiterated the demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He said that there is a need to take big steps to improve the education system and restore the confidence of the youth.
Kejriwal also put forward a political proposal from the stage. He said that if real change is to be brought in the education system, then education reformers like Sonam Wangchuk should be given the responsibility. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider new options for comprehensive reforms in the education sector.

Increasing support of opposition parties

Sonam Wangchuk’s fast is continuously gaining political support. Apart from Aam Aadmi Party, many opposition parties have also come out in his support. The agitating organization has also announced a Parliament march on July 20. In such a situation, political activities on this issue are likely to intensify in the coming days.
