Arvind on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel…
Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has raised questions about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Israel. Kejriwal alleged that PM Modi’s visit a day before the war proved to put the entire country in trouble.
New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is also the Aam Aadmi Party chief, has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi by raising questions on his visit to Israel. Kejriwal alleged that PM Modi’s visit a day before the war is creating a situation like putting the entire country in trouble.
He asked, “Why did PM Modi need to go to Israel just a day before the war started?” Kejriwal says that this step can not only affect India’s security situation, but can also challenge the country’s position at the global level.
Question on travel a day before the war
Arvind Kejriwal said in the press conference,
‘Why did Prime Minister Modi need to go to Israel a day before the war started? By doing this he has put the entire country in trouble.” Kejriwal also said that India’s non-alignment policy has always been safe and balanced, but Modi’s visit has put it in danger.
Kejriwal raised the question as to why the Prime Minister supported any side despite India having no direct involvement. He said that when we have no stake in any war, India should have remained neutral.
Iran and the Strait of Hormuz issue
Kejriwal said that Israel and America have attacked Iran. Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil and gas transportation. He said, Iran has said that only ships of friendly countries will be allowed to pass through. At such a time, it is risky for the country for the Prime Minister to stand with America and Israel.
Kejriwal said that this step could affect India’s energy security. He also expressed concern over LPG and petroleum supply and targeted the central government. He said that due to PM Modi’s foreign trip, domestic petroleum distribution and LPG supply may be affected.
Reaction to hugging Netanyahu
Arvind Kejriwal specifically raised the question that what was the need to hug Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at such a sensitive time of war. “The Prime Minister, with this step, has jeopardized India’s neutral image across the world and placed the country in a geopolitical crisis,” he said. Kejriwal said that the non-alignment policy has been in practice for the last 75 years and it has been helping in maintaining strategic balance for India. This balance has been disturbed by this step of the Prime Minister.
