As per the wish of Chief Minister Sai, special initiative for health protection of weavers
* Under the guidance of Village Industries Minister Gajendra Yadav, Secretary Rajesh Singh Rana gave instructions for eye testing camp, distribution of free glasses and providing ear plugs for hearing protection.
As per the instructions of the Honorable Chief Minister and on the guidance of Honorable Shri Gajendra Yadav, Minister of Village Industries, Rajesh Singh Rana (IAS), Secretary and Managing Director of the Village Industries Department, has directed all the district handloom officers and presidents and managers of the primary weavers’ committees of the state to organize eye testing camps for the weavers of the state.
During the continuous visit and inspection of the weavers’ committees of different districts by the Secretary, Village Industries Department, information was given about the ability of the weavers to hear due to the sound of the looms due to the production of clothes on handlooms simultaneously in the workshops of the weavers’ committees and the eyesight of the weavers was affected due to the continuous production of clothes.
Rajesh Singh Rana, Secretary, Village Industries, showing seriousness towards the health of the weavers and showing humanity, immediately organized a health camp and directed them to conduct health tests. In Village-Rewadih, District Rajnandgaon, health check-up of 264 weavers was done by expert doctors in collaboration with Site Savers India and Government District Hospital, out of which free power glasses were distributed to 127 weavers and cataract was identified in the eyes of 11 weavers, who were advised to undergo free cataract operation as per the advice of doctors.
As per the instructions of the Chief Minister and on the guidance of the Village Industries Minister, Village Industries Secretary Mr. Rajesh Singh Rana has been directed to organize a special health camp for the weavers engaged in textile production through the primary weaver cooperative societies of the state, to distribute free spectacles and to provide free ear plugs, ear phones and neck bands to the weaver members to protect them from noise pollution. So that the needy weavers of the state can get direct benefits from it.
