Asaram returned to Surat after 13 years: grand welcome with drums and lamps, police were overwhelmed after seeing the huge crowd!
Asaram, who was serving life imprisonment in a rape case, entered the land of Surat on Friday after 13 years. As soon as the news of Asaram’s arrival spread, a wave of happiness ran among his followers. In the ashram located at Jahangirpura in Surat, the devotees welcomed their Guru like a festival. Asaram was welcomed amidst the beating of drums and cheers, which created a huge stir in the area.
Ashram lit up, Rangoli made on the streets
As soon as Asaram reached Surat, he went straight to his Jahangirpura ashram. To welcome him, the ashram was decorated with lights like a bride. The scene of welcome was such that long rangolis were made on the roads and thousands of devotees were standing on both sides of the road with lamps in their hands. The queues of devotees were so long that everyone passing by kept their eyes fixed on this grand event. Let us tell you that Gujarat High Court has given conditional bail to Asaram due to health reasons.
Thousands of devotees arrived from neighboring states also
As soon as the news of Asaram’s arrival came, a large number of people not only from Surat and South Gujarat but also from neighboring states like Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh reached the Ashram in buses. There is no space left to even set foot inside and outside the ashram. The police administration is also having to work hard to control the crowd and prevent any untoward incident. Heavy police force has been deployed outside the ashram.
Treatment will continue for the next three days
Asaram is going to stay in this Jahangirpura Ashram for the next three days. According to the information received, he will be given Ayurveda treatment here. As per the conditions of the High Court, this entire stay has been decided only for health benefits. At present, the gathering of devotees around the ashram is not showing any signs of decreasing and the security arrangements remain tight.
