Ashwin was blunt in his assessment, stating that the move played directly into the batter’s strengths.

Collectively, MI’s spinners leaked 83 runs in just six overs, a factor Ashwin believes made a significant difference in the final outcome.
He noted that such expensive spells widened the gap between a defendable total and a daunting one, effectively allowing RCB to push their score well beyond the 230-mark.
