Asia Power Index-2024: India is the third most powerful country in Asia, surpassing Japan
Asia Power Index-2024 : India has become the third largest power (after America and China) by surpassing Japan in the Asia Power Index-2024. India has surpassed Japan to rank third with 39.1 points, which reflects its growing geopolitical status. In the index released by the Lowy Institute, various countries are ranked by measuring resources and influence. Australia is at fifth place and Russia is at sixth place in the list. Let us tell you, last year India was placed at number four in this report.

The 2024 Asia Power Index report ranks 27 countries and territories. For the first time, Southeast Asian country Timor Leste is included in the report.
The index evaluates countries' power across 131 indicators across eight thematic measures: military capabilities and defence networks, economic strength and relationships, diplomatic and cultural influence, resilience, and future resources.
The report highlights the changing dynamics of the balance of power in the Asian region. As usual, only the United States and China have been given the status of superpowers in Asia in this report.
According to the report, there has been no change in China's power and its powers are stable. Its powers are neither increasing nor decreasing. But China is the second most powerful country in Asia after America and compared to other countries, China is very powerful.
