India retained the Asian Champions Trophy title by defeating Olympic silver medalist China 1-0 in the final of the Women's Hockey Asian Champions Trophy. In the final match played between India and China, no team could score a goal in the first two quarters. Both teams defended well till half time. Although the Indian team got many opportunities during this period, it could not take advantage of it.

After the start of the third quarter, India got a penalty corner in the very first minute, after which the Indian team took full advantage of it. Deepika scored a goal to give India a 1-0 lead.
